ImmunoCAP blood tests are sandwich tests, which means that the solid phase ensures binding of all relevant antibodies. This is achieved through an optimized amount of cellulose material with a very large surface area providing a uniquely high binding capacity in each ImmunoCAP test. In addition, ImmunoCAP tests offer your laboratory the ability to provide clinicians with fully quantitative results and reproducibility which is possible as ImmunoCAP tests are linear and have low limits of quantification.

Whole Allergens
ThermoFisher Scientific offers the broadest selection of more than 550 specific IgE whole allergens and allergen mixes including foods, pollens, animal dander and epithelia, microorganisms, insect venoms, occupational allergens, and more, giving clinicians a higher level of diagnostic certainty. ImmunoCAP™ tests provide an objective measurement of the circulating allergen-specific IgE antibodies. Specific IgE antibodies appear as a result of exposure and following sensitization to an allergen.

ImmunoCAP Phadiatop® Test
ImmunoCAP™ Phadiatop™ test measures IgE antibodies to a well-balanced mixture of common inhalant allergens and helps rule in or out atopic allergy (atopy), a tendency to produce IgE mediated response to protein(s) in the environment.
Unique Marker of Severe Reactions and Mastocytosis
ImmunoCAP™ Tryptase is a unique marker that measures the total level of tryptase released by mast cells into circulation. Elevated tryptase levels help clinicians confirm mast cell activation during a severe allergic reaction, to decide if venom immunotherapy (VIT) is appropriate and to support the diagnosis of mastocytosis.
ImmunoCAP ECP Test
Marker of Airway Inflammation
ImmunoCAP™ ECP measures the level of Eosinophil Cationic Protein (ECP) in serum. Eosinophils are the cells chiefly responsible for producing the inflammation associated with some types of asthma. When eosinophils in the airway are activated, they undergo degranulation and release ECP, causing airway epithelial damage. The level of ECP correlates with the level of inflammation in asthmatic patients.

With ImmunoCAP™ Specific IgG tests, the concentration of circulating allergen-specific IgG antibodies in human serum or plasma can be determined. These antibodies are part of the natural defense system of the body and develop in response to contact with foreign substances. The ImmunoCAP portfolio offers testing for common environmental allergens/antigens that may cause an exaggerated immune response,1 e.g., bacterial, fungal, animal, plant, and chemical substances.2

Quantify Total Concentration of IgE
ImmunoCAP™ Total IgE measures the total amount of circulating IgE in human serum or plasma samples. IgE antibodies can appear as a result of sensitization to allergens.
ImmunoCAP Total IgE is a fully quantitative test that provides accurate levels of circulating IgE within a wide measuring range between 2 to 5000 kU/L.
ImmunoCAP Specific IgG4, an aid during allergen-specific immunotherapy
Quantifying allergen-specific IgG4 antibodies in serum with ImmunoCAP™ Specific IgG4 tests1 offers proper evaluation of immunological response.2 During allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT), increased levels of allergen-specific IgG4 indicate that the immune system is responding to therapy. With ImmunoCAP Specific IgG4, valuable clinical information in the fields of allergic disease and immunotherapy can be obtained.
